Since 1976, Almaden Valley Athletic Club® has been a favorite destination for San Jose families. Throughout the years, the club's owners have consistently upgraded the equipment, programs & services to meet members' changing lifestyles.
Our five-acre campus includes a 15,000 sq. feet of outdoor fitness, 10,000 sq. foot of indoor fitness studios with full-service locker rooms with towels, spas, showers, sauna, & steam, Open Aire Swim School, lighted championship tennis courts, pickleball, outdoor 25 yard Jr. Olympic pool, children's wading pool & spas provide a full range of activities for members. 50+ classes per week on-site & virtual. Also on-site: cafe, beer & wine, child care, kids camps, & much more.
Growing up in Coos Bay, Oregon, Jim Theiring & Joe Shank's lives had been closely interwoven for more than 60 years. Both went their separate ways, but when Jim & Linda Theiring put their life savings down on a San Jose walnut grove, they called on Joe to help complete the dream of a swim school...
